August 29th, 2020 at 11:25

Phil Ivey has been labeled as the best poker competitor on the globe by many of the top-ranked professionals. Phil was born in Riverside, CA and moved to Jersey before his first birthday. His grandpa taught him penny-ante Five-Card Stud poker. From then on on, he was addicted to poker and wanted to discover whatever he could about poker. He routinely told his elders that he wanted to be a professional poker player. Phil did not let the adverse feedback from other people annihilate his dream of being one of the best poker players in the world.

Phil started competing seriously after getting a fake ID with the name of Jerome. He sharpened his techniques at the poker rooms of Atlantic City. The beginning few years for Phil were a teaching experience and winning was not a regular thing at the time. He made his mark at the 2000 WSOP when he achieved two final tables and came away with his 1st WSOP bracelet, in a $2, five hundred Pot-Limit Omaha match. At the last table he defeated quite a few of the well known pros including but not limited to "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.

He made a decision to take his skills to the successive level and moved out west to Sin City. Phil continues to compete in in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the best players in the world. Ivey credits his success to hard work and an immeasurable passion for the game of poker. He states that he is picking up skills every day and is quite humble about his success. Phil admits to making mistakes every single session of poker and constantly aspires to get better.

Despite the fact that Ivey has won some big-time tournaments, he favors winning money games on a normal basis.
